If the thought of making our great community ever better has crossed your mind from time to time, but you weren't sure where to start or how to get involved, this is the perfect time to consider serving as a volunteer Resident Board Member.  If you are interested in a volunteer opportunity with minimal time commitment, consider becoming a Voting Member for your neighborhood. BOARD MEMBER

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for upholding the governing documents of your Association, listening and making informed decisions in the best interest of your Association, and communicating with other homeowners. Those who serve as Board Members often derive a lot of satisfaction from helping to make a great community even better!

Not sure if Board service is right for you? Ask yourself these questions: Am I a resident of Estrella? (Even part-time residents can make great Board members!) Can I dedicate several hours a month to attending Board meetings? (We hold them virtually as well!) Am I positive, collaborative, and willing to serve all residents of my Association? (Say yes!) This is not a boring administrative role! You will collaborate with other board members to make decisions on what's best for your community. 

Board meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Starpointe Gallery Rooms and virtually via Zoom.

ESTRELLA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (ECA)

THE ECA HAS TWO OPEN SEATS IN THE UPCOMING SEPTEMBER 2022 ELECTION.

The ECA board was presented with a slate of candidates at the June board meeting. While the ECA has two open positions, to have your name added to the slate of candidates that will be certified in the July Board Meeting, you would need to present a petition to the Board. For more details of the requirements of a petition, please reach out to Executive Director, Lane Powell at lpowell@ccmcnet.com.  After the certification of the slate of candidates at the July Board meeting, a name cannot be added to the ballot.  However, all election ballots have the option for write-in candidates.

VILLAGES COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (VCA)

THE VCA HAS SIX OPEN SEATS IN THE UPCOMING SEPTEMBER 2022 ELECTION.

For the VCA Board election, six open seats will be filled by homeowners in the final election that will complete its transition from developer- to homeowner-control. The terms of the elected resident Board Members will be staggered as follows: threa.com/FormCenter/Services-5/Board-of-Directors-Interest-Form-98e Board Members shall serve terms of two years and three Board Members shall serve terms of one year. Terms will be determined by the highest vote count, so the three resident Board Members who receive the most votes will serve two-year terms; the next three resident Board Members will serve one-year terms. The six Resident Board Members will serve with one Board Member appointed by Estrella's developer.

The VCA Nominating Committee is seeking applicants to serve on the Board of Directors.  Applications are due by July 31, 2022 and interviews will take place in August.  If you are interested in running for a Board position, please complete the application below.

COMMITTEE MEMBER

Estrella has a variety of Committees that serve to make recommendations to the Estrella Joint Committee Board of Directors.  Committees include: Art Gallery Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, Communications Committee, Community Garden Committee, Landscape Committee, Social Committee, and the Trails Committee.  All Committees are made up of Estrella residents dedicated to helping make a difference in their community!  If you are interested in serving as a member of a Committee, please complete the form below.

VOTING MEMBER

While this volunteer opportunity only requires a minimum time commitment, you play an important role in the governance of your association. Voting is as simple as filling out a short ballot!

We are seeking volunteers to serve as a Voting Member in both the ECA and the VCA Associations. Voting Members represent their neighborhood by casting the votes for their entire neighborhood in the Board of Directors elections at the Annual Meeting in September. That’s it!

In neighborhoods where there is no Voting Member, votes are cast individually by each neighborhood resident. Some residents will vote and some will not, and in these cases, neighborhoods may not be fully represented in the voting and election process. Serving as a Voting Member and voting on behalf of your neighborhood ensures your neighborhood is represented. Voting is quick and easy! Just submit the form below to get started!
